Is this just marketing to lawyers?
President Obama recently promoted the idea that 2 years of law school study was a great idea for reducing the costs of the education. Many lawyers will likely agree that 2 years of intense pain is remarkably better than 3 years of pain.
However, is this just another marketing gimmick? Is it just a nod to Big Law who will presumably get the benefit of “lawyer interns” for the third year similar to residency for doctors?
The New York Law School is jumping on board the idea. They are working on rolling out an “accelerated” “honors” program that is expected to last only two years. It is for the truly exceptional.
Check this video out where the idea is explained more fully.
It will truly be interesting to see how this plays out.
